Events from Bordeaux, chapter six
So, we are back with a new note in our oh so famous blog.
First, I have to apologize that there has been so long since the last time, but I guess you're accustomed to the delays by now. Even the sweeter when an update is available, or what?
I will try to fill you in on the events that have taken place as best as my memory knows how. As you can imagine, the weeks just fuse into one big pile of memories.
Secondly, I have to announce that we just finished our first course, Geo Politics, with an amazing presentation that just blew Mr. Dawson (our professor) away. You shouldnt blow your own trompet, I know, but Mr. Dawson told us that with our work, we raised the standard of the university. Yes, the Erasmus students are the best!
So, the weeks up to last weekend pretty much consisted of preparing for the presentation in Geo Politics and Cross Cultural Management. I wont bore you with that....dull school stuff
Since last time, we went on a trip, or, I went on a trip last friday. Sturle was preoccupied with entertaining his girlfriend Jeanette who came to visit him, so understandably he wanted to stay home. More on that later. The destination of the trip was beautiful Barcelona. We hired some cars and went on a roadtrip for 650km. We were eight persons in total, two cars and a lot of highway. I drove the one car, a Renault DS3, which appears as a race car compared to my beloved Audi back home in the old country. Dont worry Aud, everyone can't be a race car, I still love you for who you are. Anyway, the trip went smoothly with good weather and good spirit among the roadtrippers. Barcelona was warm and humid. Perfect! It was good to take a vacation from the vacation, living the jetset lifestyle as Morten put it. We didnt have much time since we only were in Barca for the weekend, so on saturday we walked around to see the sights. We walked a lot....and then some more. My feet are still traumatized. But all in all, it was worth it. The trip back wasn't all that problemfree. After barely surviving getting out of Barcelona, it started raining heavy on the highway. This was ok, we made it to Toulouse, a french city we had to see. The rain followed us all the way, so I guess Toulouse wasn't as beautiful as it could be. After walking around the city to find the sights (familiar?) we were wet and hungry and luckily we managed to find the only restaurant in Toulouse that was open on sundays (appearantly). The way out of the city includes the near loss of a creditcard and an unpleasant close encounter with a bus. A big bad bus! I get the chills whenever I think about it.
So, everyone is still in one piece, and as it were, we didnt get back in time to celebrate Sturles birthday on sunday. But, he was well taken care of by the Erasmus who was left behind, and Jeanette of course.
As I mentioned, my dear roomate was visited by his girlfriend last friday and he had some secret plans which included upgrading his relationship. He made his proposal of marriage and got a yes. Lucky man.
So, else than this we try to keep our consumption of red wine at a certain level. There is, believe it or not, some we still havent tried. There is also a vacation coming up in a week, so I guess we will do something fun then. Updates will follow.
Until next time...
Peace
